We're In Our Apartment~ and Loving It!

After living at the college for just over a week, we were thrilled to move into our own apartment. We are continuing to wait for our furniture to be delivered, so the camping-life continues. This is a photo of our first official meal in our house. Quinoa pancakes with mango and yogurt~ not bad for the first time using a gas stove. Yes, if you happened to notice~ our floors are pink! Right now they serve as our floor, couch, and table. Life with furniture will be a lot easier.

Below is a photo of the park across the street from our apartment. This is the view from our little front porch. Our apartment is on the third floor of a building and we have a great view of the park. Everyday it is filled with people enjoying the summer weather. The kids love to spend time playing with the local kids, meeting the many puppies that are brought to the park, and running off their excess energy. Daily we have a congregation of local kids who wait outside our door, hoping for our kids to join them to play. I consider this the perfect language school!
Yesterday I noticed that the local kids were playing rather rough and figured it couldn't hurt to try teaching some of the Spanish games I learned at the park outreaches. They were eager to join our kids in "Pato Pato Ganso" (Duck Duck Goose) and other chase games. What fun we had running around together! When I had to go up to the house to make supper, I asked the Lord to send some Bible College students to continue on this impromptu outreach. Minutes later when I looked down from our porch to check on the kids I saw three of the college students outside continuing on the games. They "happened" to be walking past our park and noticed the kids playing and thought it would be a great opportunity to build friendships with the local kids. Isn't it neat when we see the Lord work so supernaturally, naturally. Now the plan is to meet these kids every Sunday afternoon to play and maybe teach some songs and stories from the Bible.

Thank you so much for your prayers and encouraging emails. We appreciate it! So far our transition has been relatively smooth and we are thankful for that. Please pray that our furniture comes soon as we are not really able to start school until that is here.
