This is the first time I have skipped a week of blogging. Life has been very busy here and time has been limited. Sorry for the lack of updates.
Two weeks ago our pastor and his family from Calgary visited us while on their vacation. It was such a blessing to have time with them. There is nothing quite like a face to face visit with friends. We are so blessed to be have pastors and their families that include us in their vacation.Evan was able to fly solo for the very first time. This event is celebrated by cutting off the back of the solo pilot's shirt and having the instructor and observers sign it. It is then hung from the wall or ceiling at Itec. The kids and I missed the flight as we were in Ocala for the day. Maybe that's best. Somehow Evan flying by himself is a bit like a child climbing a tall tree. You know they are going to do it and that there is some risk, but you'd rather not watch it!
As you may know, we have decided to stay in Florida for the foreseeable future. Although we would love to be in South America, the Lord continues to confirm that we are to stay in Florida. In many ways the scope of the ministry is much broader being here in Itec. We look forward to the day when we can be involved in the implementation of the training programs, but for now this seems to be where we are to be. At this time, we are planning for another training session in Ecuador at the end of October.
Itec has asked us to help set up a ministry house. This house will be available for future missionaries and visitors to stay once we move on. Being that we had been living out of suitcases for the past 8 months, settling down sounded like a great idea. A few trips to the Sally Ann and the local 2nd hand store helped us furnish the house. We love our new home and feel very blessed to be here.
Come along with us!
This is the chronicle of our journey in faith and service that started in Peru. Explore our previous trip, and keep up to date with what is happening now as we work with ITEC in Florida, and with national believers in South America as well as other parts of the world. We'd love to hear from you - so comment on the postings, or send us an email!
