Look Mom, No Teeth!

Mission AccomplishedMore exciting news from Rachel!

Tonight, at Rachel's insistence, I got some more practice on the dental skills Mark taught me in Ventanilla -- except this time with no anaesthetic or tools. Fortunately, this tooth was not strongly attached. Nevertheless, it took about 15 minutes of trying in order to get it out. Rachel (the brave one of the three kids when it comes to teeth) just kept opening up wide--"If I say ouuuch, that means it REALLY hurts and you should stop." One ouch, and some more wiggling and we did it! She is so excited!!

We're happy that Pastor John has arrived back safely after several weeks of travel, speaking at 3 different pastors' conferences in Cuba, Mexico and then at the college in California. The Bonner's had us over for lunch along with Justin & Sarah today, and we had the opportunity to talk about what the Lord is doing in Peru and in our lives. It was a real encouragement to us.

We also met today with a team of nurses from Florida who had just returned from their annual medical outreach, this time in Cajamarca. Although they had been introduced to us with the expectation that we could teach them something (oops), we were the ones who were receiving from them as we talked about their experiences.

We continue to be blessed by emails from those reading the blog. Today the kids even got "real" mail from Calgary!!! This was really fun for them. Thanks for keeping in touch, and for the words of encouragement and prayers.
