It's Official!

Many of you know that over the past few years we have, as a family, felt the Lord preparing us for overseas medical mission work. We feel strongly that the Lord is directing us to fulltime work in Peru. It is an exciting and frightening discovery!

Lord willing we will be moving to Lima in mid-January 2008. Our initial commitment will be for three years. In addition to serving in the orphanage ministry, it is our heart to train and equip believers in Peru in basic medicine so that they can use these skills as a door opener in sharing the gospel with their countrymen. Strengthening and enabling the indigenous church to carry out their role in the Great Commission is our goal. We feel that a three year commitment is required for us to implement the work we believe God has directed us to do.

What might this look like?

Serving with Medicine- opportunities abound in both Lima and throughout Peru to use health care and teaching as a tool to support the spread of the gospel.

Teaching basic medicine courses at the Calvary Chapel Bible College in Lima in English and Spanish

Providing medical care for Bible College students, staff, missionaries and church members

Medical outreach- outreach clinics, health classes- e.g. HIV/AIDS teaching, STI teaching, birth control, abstinence, etc.

Serving in Iquitos (the jungle) coming alongside Albert Smith, a Peruvian-born missionary who desires to add the use of health education and medicine as a tool for loving the people he ministers to.

We would like to invite you to partner with us. We require partners who are committed to praying for us as we embark on this adventure. As well, we are responsible to raise 80% of our budget. If you are interested in supporting us financially, we have included our church’s contact information.

Please contact us if you have any questions. We look forward to hearing from you. If you would like to receive our newsletter updates by email, please email us to let us know.

In Jesus’ great love,
Evan and Heather

On September 30th, we had the opportunity to speak in front of our home church, Rocky Mountain Calvary Chapel, about how we have arrived at this point and how the Lord has been challenging us and leading us. If you want to listen, click below (IE users will need to click twice).
