For any of you who have tried to learn a new language, you know how challenging it can be to express yourself without making funny blunders. Due to the fact our life has been a bit slow lately, I thought I would report one :c).
For several weeks our Peruvian friend, Darwin, complained of a painful ear. This past week, Evan used "Macgyver-like" skill to resurrect his broken otoscope (no duct tape...just a little tin foil and 2 "C" batteries) and took a look in Darwin's ear. Evan suggested that Darwin might want to put several "gatos" of oil in his ear to help the problem. "GATOS!?" questioned Darwin. Gatos are cats...I think Evan meant "gotas". We all had a good laugh. Darwin's faith in Evan's medical judgement has now been restored and all is well!
Come along with us!
This is the chronicle of our journey in faith and service that started in Peru. Explore our previous trip, and keep up to date with what is happening now as we work with ITEC in Florida, and with national believers in South America as well as other parts of the world. We'd love to hear from you - so comment on the postings, or send us an email!
