Last week we were blessed to have Dr. Steve Adams visit ITEC. He makes regular trips from his home in South Carolina to help with curriculum planning for the I-Med curriculum. Evan and I were greatly encouraged by our time with Steve. Creating a medical curriculum to teach "those who have no doctor" is a great challenge and having another medical professional with overseas experience to help make decisions was helpful. Our meetings with Dr. Steve and Steve Saint were lively as we had some battles over what constitutes essential knowledge. Our goal is to equip these believers with a tool that fits them and not the North American standard of medicine that we have been trained to provide. If we attempt to create a curriculum to reach that level of training, we will never complete it and those who suffer with great spiritual and physical need will remain unreached. Making a tool that fits the indigenous believer and enables them to provide medical care is the challenge we face. Please continue to pray for us as we work towards this goal.
Come along with us!
This is the chronicle of our journey in faith and service that started in Peru. Explore our previous trip, and keep up to date with what is happening now as we work with ITEC in Florida, and with national believers in South America as well as other parts of the world. We'd love to hear from you - so comment on the postings, or send us an email!
