One thing we are grateful for was the opportunity Evan's parents had to visit us in Florida. They traveled from Canada to spend two weeks with the kids while Evan and I were in Ecuador and Kentucky. Having time together as a family was an unexpected blessing. Had we been in South America, they would not have been able to visit. It was so good to see them again and spend time together. We even had a turkey dinner to celebrate all of the missed holidays past and future!
Ronbo, one of our friends at Itec, surprised us today with a new Thanksgiving tradition. He read to us a letter written by Abraham Lincoln encouraging the nation to set aside a day of thanksgiving to the Lord. We did not know that's how Thanksgiving Day began. Ron also shared some traditional "turkey cookies" and a thanksgiving song. Being that we are celebrating our first American Thanksgiving, we were very appreciative of this history lesson.
Evan and I are hard at work preparing the Imed curriculum. Resources we found at the Global Medical Missions Conference have been very helpful. As well, things are moving forward with the plans for a training centre in Shell, Ecuador. Our plan is to post a short video message next week to share this vision with you.
May God bless you as you spend time with your family this Thanksgiving holiday!
Come along with us!
This is the chronicle of our journey in faith and service that started in Peru. Explore our previous trip, and keep up to date with what is happening now as we work with ITEC in Florida, and with national believers in South America as well as other parts of the world. We'd love to hear from you - so comment on the postings, or send us an email!

Hi there! Just wanted to say hello as I've been following your blog. My hubby and I spent a summer in Lima helping with Summer of Missions a few years ago, and now we are serving full time in Panama. Just thought I should let you know I am reading! Great post! Your kiddos are sooo cute!
Thanks for the note Lindsey. We were wondering who was checking our blog from Panama. I found your blog as well- your daughter is adorable. God bless you and your family as you serve Him in Panama.
