Evan has been working alongside Steve Saint to create a non-verbal training program to enable indigenous believers to provide basic eye care as a door opener skill to sharing the gospel in frontier areas. I thought you might like to see still shots from the I-See training video.
The intention of the I-See program is to enable trainees to appropriately distribute corrective lenses to those who need them and refer those needing surgical intervention. In North America we often forget how much we rely on our health system to provide care. Imagine the limitations and frustrations you would face if you could not read or drive because of vision impairments and no care was available. Providing this service will allow believers to care for the felt needs of those they are wanting to reach for Jesus.
I-See is one of a host of nonverbal training systems ITEC is creating to enable indigenous believers in frontier areas to both build relationships with nonbelievers in their community and to provide a much needed source of livelihood.
Come along with us!
This is the chronicle of our journey in faith and service that started in Peru. Explore our previous trip, and keep up to date with what is happening now as we work with ITEC in Florida, and with national believers in South America as well as other parts of the world. We'd love to hear from you - so comment on the postings, or send us an email!
