Puzzle Pieces

We were blessed to have our pastor from Peru visit Itec this week. Pastor John Bonner and his daughter, Michelle, dropped in while on a tour of the states. It was a blessing to have the opportunity to show them around and introduce them to the team at Itec.

During the tour of Itec, Steve introduced Pastor John to the I-See program. John's eyes lit up as he immediately saw a way to implement this program in Peru. At Calvary Chapel Lima, many national pastors and leaders have been raised up and sent out. The challenge has been how to equip these leaders with skills that will allow them to be self-supporting, avoiding the need to seek foreign financial support. But what next? How can these pastors both self-support and minister to the people they feel God wants them to reach? John saw I-See as the perfect first step. It is a tangible way to meet the needs of the people and a way for these pastors to make an income. Pastor John also has a vision to see the I-See, I-Dent and I-Med programs implemented in Peru.

Suddenly it hit us, the program God has led us to help develop is going to equip national pastors we actually know and love. We had wondered why God had directed us to Peru and then here to Florida. It felt like the puzzle pieces were instantly connected. What a joy it is to know the tools we are helping to develop will equip people we know, for ministries we have been privileged to see with our own eyes.

This week Evan and I will be attending the Alteco Conference in Orlando. This conference brings together tribal leaders from the Amazon region with North American based ministries with the goal of finding ways to partner together. We will be discussing the development of the training centre in Shell Mera. Please pray for wisdom and discernment as we seek the Lord's direction in starting this centre.
