A Wonderful Airshow

Yesterday was our first time at the spanish church service. Evan and I did pretty well understanding the visiting pastor. He spoke SO fast that we could just make out the nouns and verbs. I didn't even hear the other words! It is pretty tiring to try to listen and comprehend what he was saying. The worship was amazing. It doesn't seem to matter what language you speak, it is easy to sing to the Lord.

After spanish church, Karen took our family to Larcomar. Larcomar is a muy expensive shopping centre that overlooks the ocean. The boys thought it was far too North American. We had amazing Peruvian ice cream there. What a contrast to Ventanilla and Chaclacayo. When we drove up to Larcomar, we noticed 1000s of people lining the sidewalks. We asked what the attraction was. We discovered that the airforce was about to put on an airshow. It was incredible. The first time the fighter jet flew by it buzzed the shopping centre flying low and fast -- memories of Top Gun :) Then, the fighter jet put on an amazing airshow. What a treat!

Today we were blessed to have the chance to see the orphanage property again. It is no small thing to make a trip. Chaclacayo is about 45 minutes from the Bible College. Raul, one of the church workers, drove us and Tania, my sister, acted as interpreter. The orphanage director and his family arrive from Florida on Wednesday. He wanted Evan to make a quick trip out to help start planning work projects for teams that are coming to work (like RMCCs team!!) We'll try to bring a more thorough update in the near future.
