Only 26 Days!!

Believe it or not, this is the first time I've actually counted how many days we have left before moving to Peru. It isn't that I'm not excited to go, it is my (not so rational) way of coping with the overwhelming task of leaving!

Over the past few days I wanted to write, but couldn't think of what to share. Then I realized it wasn't that there was nothing to write, it's that nothing is complete. Why is it that I want to present to you only the completed things, the successful things going on in our lives? I guess as we prepare for life overseas, we are going to have to get comfortable with the unfinished, the "that didn't go as planned", and the fluid way of life.

Evan is hard at work finishing house repairs and renovations. We want to leave it in good shape for our friends who are planning to rent it and decrease the risk of major repair bills while we are away. This week Evan needs to hang a ceiling in the basement before we take a couple of days off to visit with family over Christmas. I don't want to overwhelm myself with the list of things left to do! Please just pray for us in this area ;c)

Along the same line, please pray for our dear friends who are planning to rent our home. They are currently trying to sell their house and need to sell it by Saturday (yes, that's tomorrow) in order to rent ours. Please pray for this as well. The Lord has given us peace about this. We are literally coming up to the 11th hour on this.

Good news! We hosted an open house on Wednesday evening to share about I-Tec and the partnership we believe God is asking us to make with them. It was encouraging to have so many friends and family join us less than a week before Christmas. Evan shared, answered questions and showed a couple of I-Tec videos we received from Steve Saint. Thank you to all who came, and for my dear friends who couldn't come but blessed us with practical helps.

I often get asked how people can help in practical ways. Right now we really appreciate your prayers. Having prayer support is crucial at this time. We are raising support, so if you feel the Lord is directing you this way, that would be a blessing. For practical helps, please call me or email me and make yourself available. It's not that I don't want help, I just may not be able to think of things at the moment. After the 29th, I will be happy to have friends take my kids, help pack and clean, etc. Thank you for those who have asked and who offer. That means a lot to us.
