This is the chronicle of our journey in faith and service that started in Peru. Explore our previous trip, and keep up to date with what is happening now as we work with ITEC in Florida, and with national believers in South America as well as other parts of the world. We'd love to hear from you - so comment on the postings, or send us an email!

Onward!

It felt so good to finish off our 12-week Spanish language class on Friday. Although we are far from fluent, our classes have provided us with a solid foundation and we feel it is time to start working on our "day to day" Spanish. Our understanding of Spanish grammar is strong, but our ability to converse in the language needs a lot of work.

This week we will have a great opportunity to test out our Spanish. Pedro, a peruvian animator from Arequipa, will be staying with us for a few days. He will be helping I-Tec with the video animation for the I-Med training video. Pedro does not speak a word of English so this is our big test. Evan and Pedro will be working together on this project. I'm sure our language skills will improve.

We are planning to travel to Calgary for a few weeks in June and July. It is our hope to connect with as many of you as possible. On Sunday, June 22nd we will be sharing at our church for a few minutes during the evening service (6:30). If you would like to attend, please check out our church website at http://www.calvarychapel.ca/. There is also a chili dinner planned for 5pm that evening. It is a fundraiser for the our church's short term mission trip to Iquitos, Peru in August. I think the cost is around $5 per person. Come along and support them and then we get to visit, too!

Since our next week will be so busy with hosting Pedro and preparing to travel to Canada, we decided to take Evan out for an early "Father's Day" lunch. La Granja de Surco is one of our favourite peruvian restaurants. It is located in Surco Antigua (Old Surco), right off the Plaza. We love the character of the neighbourhood - old buildings, bright colors, lots of interesting people to watch. I have included a couple of photos of the plaza. If you visit us, we will be sure to take you there.
