Nahum 1:3b;7
"The LORD has His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet...The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him.
...the whirlwind...
This verse has encouraged us so much over the past few weeks. We had heard that time spent at home during quick furloughs could be whirlwind experiences and ours proved to be just that. It was not a surprise to us that we would be busy and that our time of connecting with friends would be intense. During our visit home in Calgary we made a quick trip out to British Columbia to fulfill immigration requirements and to visit with Evan's family, we traveled to Pincher Creek to visit with family, spent 4 days in the mountains riding horses with friends and made a 5 day trip to Florida. Along with that we had many opportunities to spend time with family and friends. This time was a blessing and we were encouraged and fed by it.
...the storms...
What we did not expect were the storms that hit.
- Our friend Julian Dabbagh was killed in a car accident on the way to a Young Life staff conference with his pregnant wife Kathy and two young children.

- As well, our friend from church, Kari Stengler, died suddenly. Kari was married to Lance and they have a 4 year old son, Daniel.
- Evan's dad ended up in the hospital with heart problems. We are thankful that the damage was minimal and the stent was successful.
