Being All Here

There isn't much to share in the way of an update this week. We have decided to stay put in Florida until after our visit to Calgary in July. The Lord knows the timing beyond that, and we trust Him to guide us as we wait for the next step to be clear. Now that this decision has been made, we can stop living like we may leave in 2 weeks. The kids and I are most happy about this decision. There is still a lot of work that can be done on the IMed program here in Florida, and Evan will continue to work on that. We look forward to seeing the training in action. Hopefully we will soon begin to hear back from people who have taken the ISee program into the field and be able to bring good reports to you.

We are grateful to God for the good friends He has given us here through Itec and our church in Florida. When we first arrived it was difficult to imagine setting down emotional roots, but as the months have passed we have been blessed with such good friends. One dear friend reminded me that a plant with one deep root is easier to transplant then one with many intertwining roots. So we have chosen this as our analogy of life here. We have plugged in relationally and kept the material roots to a minimum. One of my favourite quotes is from Jim Elliott, "Wherever you are, be all there. Live to the hilt every situation you believe to be the will of God." We believe God has us here for a season and while we are here we will do our best to be all here.

We appreciate your prayer and support. Please pray especially for Evan as he works on the Imed training curriculum and for the future implementation of training. "Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it." Psalm 127:1a. Wherever we are we want to be about the Lord's business, not ours.
